Barnard Helping Hands
Completed Projects

When appropriate we will post some of our completed projects to give you an idea of some of things Helping Hands has been doing.

Helping Hands has completed several projects this month. Margot Harcher has a new railing and stairs thanks to Larry Davis and Joan Pearsons has had her new wash machine hooked up thanks to Ed Jodice. We are also continuing to provide meals and drive people to appointments.

Helping Hands packed and mailed twelve large boxes of Christmas gifts to families in the Kenner, LA area. The generosity of our Barnard community was amazing and inspiring. Glen Yankee of East Barnard, who masterminded the project, said "that the boxes were received with much enthusiasm and thanks." We want to thank all of you who shopped and wrapped making this project such a success. On the local scene, we have helped locate a house and provided a car for a Katrina survivor.

Our Saturday meal preparation and delivery program is now in it's 5th week. We have provided meals for 2 or 3 Barnard residents each week. Please contact us if you know of someone who would like to receive a meal or if you would like to be a cook, a substitute cook, or to help deliver a Saturday meal.

Don't hesitate to contact us if you need a Helping Hand. We have people ready and willing to help. So if you wish you could do something that needs to be done, but no longer can, please contact us and use the resources we have available, or contact us to join our group of volunteers.
